Week 1 - The Atom

This is where it all starts. This week we'll be building the foundation for the rest of the course. As with any sound structure, we need our foundation to be strong. There is no stronger building block than the atom. This week's lecture will cover the basic subatomic particles in the atom and will introduce some notations and terms which will be used for the remainder of the course. Your first assignment will be to watch the Week 1 video. From there you'll move on to the text where the topics which were discussed in the video are covered a bit more in depth. Then there's a fun exercise involving the material we've covered. You will get to determine which superhero you are. Lastly, introduce yourself to the class being sure to include your particular superhero identity.
