World's Greatest Physicist

Many of the most intelligent individuals of the 20th century worked to make nuclear energy a reality. Choose the individual you consider most important in the development of nuclear power. Provide a brief biography of this individual, and two distinct reasons why you consider them the father (or mother) of nuclear energy. A well written, well reasoned answer as well as a substantive response to a classmate's submission will be worth 5 additional points on your final grade.

I chose Albert Einstein simply because his thinking broadened the mind of the 21st century. Not only is his E=mc2 the basis for nuclear energy, but his work with time space theory is proving insightful even over 50 years after his death. In my opinion, Einstein is the father of quantum mechanics. As tools such as the CERN supercollider continue to reveal smaller and smaller parts of matter, Einstein’s work remains significant.
